The University of New Mexico’s ECHO Institute hosted an online Orientation Session for the Implementation of UMST’s Project ECHO Hub

The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center (“UNMHSC”) hosted an online orientation session about Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) to UMST faculty members, as part of their collaboration with the University of Medical Sciences & Technology (UMST).

The session served as an introduction for the practical implementation process of UMST’s Project ECHO hub, inline of the memorandum of understanding that was signed between UMST and UNMHSC.

The session was held on the 6th of December 2022 at the Global Conference Center (GCC) and attended by Professor Hassan Elhag Ali Ahmed, UMST President, Dr. Dina Ghandour, Director of External Relations, Dr. Mashair Ahmed, Deputy Acting Director of Sudan Educational & Development Institute, Dr. Amal Osman, Director of Media Center, and students from the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Business Administration.

It’s worth mentioning that the UNMHSC’s ECHO institute has developed Project ECHO, a pioneering telementoring and distance learning program designed as a movement to de-monopolize knowledge and amplify local capacity to provide the best practices in various areas for the underserved people all over the world. The ECHO model™ is committed to addressing the needs of the most vulnerable populations by equipping communities with the right knowledge, at the right place, at the right time. All of which represent another addition for UMST’s sustained excellence in its external relations and community engagement.
