UMST Students of Medicine in Fieldwork
Under the generous sponsorship and unqualified support from the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Professor Mamoun Homeida, the medical students of 25th batch, numbering 231 students, set out on trips to the countryside and cities of Port Sudan, Suakin, Gadaref, El-Obeid, Meroe, Atbara and Damer under the slogan: We are medical students; we learn and serve our communities. On the trip that will last from 7 to 12 October, the students were accompanied by administrative supervisors and security personnel. The ultimate goal of the trip is to get acquainted with the health system, different ways of living and the state of medical work in rural communities, as well as to meet schoolchildren to know about the conditions of school health in general. This trip rests firmly within the activities of the Department of Community Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine. The students will also launch seminars and awareness activities and general education of the public. They will also conduct medical examinations, blood pressure measurements, diabetes screening for citizens. They will also embark on free treatment days in cooperation with the health authorities in the areas they are visiting. The students will also lend support to the health centers and rural hospitals with their efforts and with the medicines they carrying with them. As part of the University’s Pink October project, the students will oversee breast self-examination and will teach women how to do it. It is noteworthy that the World Health Organization and UNICEF have participated in supporting medical students to succeed in their mission. It is worth mentioning that one of the goals of the trip is to practically include students in the Social Responsibility activities carried out by the University and the Faculty of Medicine.

طلاب كلية الطب، جامعة مأمون حميدة، ينتشرون في أصقاع السودان…….. ضمن مشروع الإقامة الريفية…. و تحت شعار (نحن طلاب الطب: نتعلم ونخدم مجتمعنا)…. برعاية كريمة ودعم سخي من السيد رئيس مجلس الامناء بروفسور مأمون حميدة انطلقت قوافل طلاب الطب…. الدفعة ٢٥ والبالغ عددهم ٢٣١ طالباً وطالبةً في رحلات الي ارياف ومدن بورسودان، سواكن، القضارف، الابيض، مروي، عطبرة والدامر…… برفقة المشرفين الاداريين وأفراد الأمن….. في رحلة تستمر من ٧ وحتى ١٢ اكتوبر…. بغرض التعرف على النظام الصحي وكيفية الحياة والعمل الطبي في المجتمعات الريفية والتعرف على نظم الادارة الاهلية، و كذلك مقابلة تلاميذ المدارس لمعرفة مكونات الصحة المدرسية….. يأتي ذلك ضمن أنشطة قسم طب المجتمع بكلية الطب… كما سيقوم الطلاب بعمل ندوات وأنشطة توعوية وتثقيفية للمواطنين. وكذلك سيقوم الطلاب بالكشف الطبي وقياس الضغط وفحص السكري للمواطنين وإقامة ايام علاجية مجانية بالتعاون مع السلطات الصحية بالمناطق التي يزورونها. وسيقوم الطلاب بدعم المراكز الصحية والمستشفيات الريفية بالأدوية التي حملوها معهم. وفي إطار مشروع الجامعة أكتوبر الوردي يقوم الطلاب بإجراء الكشف الذاتي على الثدي وتعليم السيدات كيفية القيام بذلك. يذكر ان    منظمة الصحة العالمية ومنظمة اليونسيف قد شاركتا في دعم طلاب الطب لانجاح مهمتهم. جدير بالذكر أن احد أهداف الرحلة هو ادراج الطلاب عملياً في انشطة المسئولية المجتمعية التي تقوم بها الجامعة وكلية الطب
